We’ve “modernised” the look and feel of the website, but the overall functionality is the same for now, but lots of upgrades are planned!

Some graph traces are now coloured according to the quality of the data. Tabular data and downloaded data have the quality code listed as well. See the links for quality code explanations.

Tip: Recent data is of lessor quality (QC200) as it has not been through our verification process yet.

Note: Not all of our measurements are assigned quality codes. We are gradually implementing these as standards are developed and as resourcing allows.

You can now graph (and download) incremental data (such as rainfall) using more interval options, for example hourly, daily, monthly, annual and cumulative. Additionally, the current year’s rainfall data can be over-plotted with the past 3 years as a comparison (use the Cumulative (Historic) option).

Mean daily flow values can also be plotted and downloaded.

Note that for the Cumulative (Historic) graphing option, the date range has two options; either July to June or for the last 12 months, the date range selectors have been disabled, the tabular data section has been disabled, and lastly, zooming has been disabled for now as we are still working on getting the zoomed graph plotting correctly.

Tip: Click the legend to turn any unwanted graph traces on or off.

Tip: You can list cumulative data in the Tabular Data section by selecting the Cumulative interval option.

Soil moisture content can now be graphed using two options; a line graph and now also as an envelope plot. An envelope plot has the current data over-plotted with the historic range, so you can easily compare the current values against historic minimums and maximums. Note that the date range has two options; either July to June or the last 12 months, and that the date range selectors have been disabled for this type of graph.

There is a new section called Site Statistics, we have added the minimum, maximum and mean values for each year of record for some measurements (Stage and Flow for starters). Watch this space for more enhancements.

Note: At the moment these statistics are calculated on the fly and cover the full range of data. Some flow monitoring stations have only been calibrated for flood flows and show incorrect readings at low flows, so use these statistics with caution. We are working towards filtering this incorrect data out of the statistics.

Underneath the available date range, there is a link to view information about the site. If there's no link, then there's no information available! We will endeavour to update these over time.

We have added new statistics for flow data. You can now see low flow and flood return period levels.

• The 'Additional information about...' popup now shows a Site Administrator comment about the measurement site, if one has been set.  This is in addition to the general measurement site comment.
• There are two soil moisture anomaly maps; they show where soil moisture levels are higher or lower than the average for the same period in previous years.
• There are two rainfall anomaly maps; they show where the total rainfall has been higher or lower than the average for the same period in previous years.
• There are two interactive maps that show the spatial distribution of rainfall over the region.  The Rain 1H map shows rainfall totals for each of the last 24 hours.  The Rain 24H map shows a rolling 24 hour accumulation for each of the last 24 hours.
• There’s a table of hourly rainfall totals for the last 24 hours. The colours of each cell change according to the hourly total.
• We’ve created a Daily Climate Maps tab and this tab contains lot of new features.

This release includes the following enhancements and fixes:

• Accessibility enhancements setup for graph component.

This release includes the following enhancements and fixes:

• Decimal precision: Tabular data now applies more accurate decimal places for each measurement type.
• Seasonal Compliance Flow updates: Compliance Flow page now dynamically displays only active monitoring sites.
• Quality Code fixes: Resolved Data Quality column display issues and incorrect data parsing.

Envelope Plots (Area/Range) for Other Measurements | Preview

Extended the envelope plot visualisation (currently used for Soil Moisture) to support additional measurement types including Groundwater Level and 7-day Moving Mean Flow.

Non-Detect Values Display Fix | Preview

Numeric values containing < or > symbols (e.g., <0.001), which were previously omitted from the Tabular Data view and graphs, now display correctly. These values appear properly in tables and tooltips, and plot at half the detection limit on graphs.

Asterisk Values & Measurement Comments for Scatter Data | Preview

Fixed display of non-numeric values (e.g., asterisks) in scatter data measurements like Black Disc. Asterisk values now show correctly in the Tabular Data view instead of appearing blank. Added a new Comment column that displays measurement comments when available, with both values and comments included in CSV exports.

Configurable Totalising Interval Filter

The interval filter (Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly) is no longer limited to Rainfall only. This can now be enabled for any incremental measurement — including Rainfall Backup, Pumping Volume, and future measurements.

Cumulative Historic Rainfall Graph Polish | Preview

Improved the Cumulative Historic Rainfall graph display: X-axis now shows cleaner month labels (e.g., "Nov", "Dec" instead of "Nov '20"), removed redundant timestamp from tooltip, and enhanced tooltip styling with improved readability.

Undefined Units Display Fix | Preview

Fixed an issue where "undefined" was shown in the Latest Reading box when a measurement has no units configured. The value now displays cleanly without units text when none are defined.

Other Fixes & Enhancements

• Mobile UX — The Latest Reading section on mobile devices is now expanded by default, making key data immediately visible.
• Site Statistics Units — Fixed measurement units containing special characters (e.g., m³/sec) displaying as raw codes instead of rendering properly.
• Quality Code Tooltips — Fixed tooltips on scatter graphs (e.g., Black Disc) incorrectly showing "QC 0" for all data points. Tooltips now show the actual quality code matching each point's colour.
• Dynamic Browser Tab Title — The browser tab now updates to reflect the currently selected site and measurement, making it easier to identify tabs when working with multiple views.
• Graph Type Reset — Fixed a bug where switching between measurements would incorrectly retain the previous graph type instead of resetting to the default.
• Filter Controls — Filter inputs are now disabled during data loading to prevent conflicting selections.
• Page Title — Now displays site and measurement (e.g., "Waikoukou at Longbush · Soil Moisture Content") for better context.
